About Our Speakers

Steve Spaanbroek

Steve is a founding partner of MSL Healthcare Partners, Inc., and has over 28 years of national consulting experience in the Environment of Care™ and facilities management. He is a frequent speaker in the field of healthcare safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. Steve serves as a Faculty Member for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association, teaching both the Healthcare Construction Certificate and Environment of Care courses. Steve has been an active faculty member since 2004 and has participated in seminar development for Purdue University, the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and The Joint Commission. Steve was formerly the Director of Facilities Consulting for Premier, Inc. In this capacity, he lead a team of consultants dedicated to providing high quality, cost efficient consulting to organizations across the country. These services included Life Safety Code® inspections, survey preparation, survey support, and engineering support.

Tim is the Program Director – System Life Safety and Environment of Care at Indiana University Health.

Brad Benhart

Brad has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years. In 2009, Benhart furthered his commitment to construction education by accepting a position at Purdue University in their Building Construction Management program. Brad is focused on construction supervision, healthcare construction, construction administration, scheduling, project controls, and strategic planning. His position allows him to further develop construction education and be an industry advocate for the next generation of builders. His previous position was that of Vice President with Pepper Construction Company of Chicago, IL.
