The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is having "Architect/Engineer Training" on April 27th from 8:30-noon. We will be reviewing common mistakes that we see quite often, issues with plans that have made them difficult to review in a timely manner, and provide examples of how the engineers and architects in instances have made things easier to review. We will wrap up the session with a question and answer session.

The meeting will be held: April 27, 2007
Location: Indiana State Department of Health

Process Heating Systems Assessment — 1-day workshop
This workshop provides an introduction to process heating and process heating equipment, such as furnaces, dryers, ovens, heaters, and kilns, used by industry. The course includes discussion of combustion and other heating methods; heat transfer in furnaces; waste heat recovery; commonly used process heating controls; and emissions from heating processes.

Attend this workshop if you are a process engineer, plant operator, maintenance engineer, process heating equipment designer, plant or corporate energy coordinator, or consulting engineer and learn:

  • Practical tips on process heating and maintenance
  • How to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions from furnaces
  • How to use DOE's Process Heating Assessment and Survey Tool (PAST) software tool

The session highlights the use of PHAST, which helps users survey furnaces and heaters, identify major energy-using equipment, prioritize improvement opportunities, and assess available methods to improve thermal efficiency in an industrial plant.

Training Location and schedule:
The Process Heating Assessment workshop will be held at Citizens headquarters facility at 2020 North Meridian, Indianapolis, IN 46202

The course will begin at 8:00 am, Tuesday, April 24th, and is scheduled to end at 4:15pm. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to find parking. Morning and afternoon refreshments as well as a box lunch will be provided.
