ISHE Inside Look: King's Daughters' Health in Madison

Editor's Note: One of the perks of ISHE membership is the opportunity to learn the inside story on Indiana healthcare facility projects. We invite you to share your story by sending us an email. Just include your text and photos - we'll handle the layout. See the "Full story" link below for an excellent example.

King's Daughters' Health recently embarked on a journey to design a campus that would provide patients with state-of-the-art technology and facilitate Bethany Circle's mission to deliver exceptional health services. This journey culminated in the grand opening of the new $100 million green field replacement hospital and Community and Medical Arts Center (CMAC) in Madison, Indiana.

The new facility emphasizes patient-focused strategies, on-stage vs. off-stage concepts, the healing qualities of natural light, efficient space layouts and travel distance considerations. It was constructed on a portion of the hospital's new 96-acre campus, and includes dedicated areas of future expansion opportunities. A fast-track construction delivery method was utilized that included six separate design and drawing bid packages.

Used 150kVA Toshiba UPS Available

Editor's Note: One benefit of the new Platinum Round Table program is the opportunity to include relevant announcements such as this one in the newsletter. Contact ISHE Board Member Dan Hall for information on becoming a sponsor member of the Platinum Round Table program.

ISHE Members:

We have a customer that has upsized their UPS and as a result we have a used 150 KVA Toshiba G8000 (new in 2007) in great working order and condition. We do not run across many opportunities where we see a 6 year old UPS in such good condition become available, and since we have been involved with this system since it was new/installed and have knowledge of its environment, service and maintenance history we thought it was a prime opportunity to keep it here in our local market. Toshiba has designed these units specifically for imaging (CT, Cath Lab, MRI, X-ray, IT, etc) because they can handle extremely high inrush loads and have 100% step load capability.

This unit is selling for approximately $20 K for the total UPS package including an external 3 breaker bypass with batteries, and the batteries are still under factory warranty until next year. A brand new UPS system like this would run approx $60 K. Full maintenance contracts are available for annual parts and labor coverage on the UPS directly from Toshiba. This system is currently in our warehouse here in Indianapolis. First come first serve.

Please just let us know if you might be interested in pursuing this, and we can get you a formal quote which will include all details dimensions, battery info, pictures, etc.
