Andrew Quirk, AIA, FHFI
Senior Vice President, Healthcare Center of Excellence

Andrew is Senior Vice President of the Healthcare Center of Excellence for Skanska, one of the largest construction firms nationally and internationally in healthcare.  He is responsible for healthcare consulting advisory services, business development, recruiting, peer review and best practices in the U.S.   

Andrew's 19 years in the Healthcare industry, include a tenure as an architect on staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an architect with RTKL and as Vice President of Skanska USA Building.  His career has included the programming, design, management and construction of various notable medical research laboratories including work for the National Institutes of Health and Health Science work for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. With this unique background in health science design, construction and hospital facilities, his expertise lies in advising hospitals on strategic facility plans, go/no-go and right sizing decisions for projects, and the best approaches for procuring and managing design and construction services.

Recently, Mr. Quirk has been tapped for industry related information for articles in Building Design and Construction, ENR and Florida Medical Business Journal.  Mr. Quirk has spoken at multiple conferences and seminars including the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) seminar, discussing infection control and construction and Leadership in Capital Projects, discussing Lean practices, integrated project delivery and prefabrication techniques in construction.

His education includes a BA in Architecture from Pratt Institute and an eMBA certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.  Andrew is a registered architect, licensed contractor and a Fellow of the Health Facilities Institute, a professional society for those in planning, design, construction and equipping of healthcare facilities. Of his 19 years in the industry, the last 13 have been with Skanska.
